Triumph Over Suffering

We are the clay; You are the Potter.        – Isaiah 64:8

Deception #6:   You're a pretty good person; there is not much you need to change in your life.
God’s truth:
There is no one righteous, not even one . . .
Romans 3:10 NIV

. . . all our righteous acts are like filthy rags . .
Isaiah 64:6 NIV

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.  For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son . . .
Romans 8:28-29 NASB

We are the clay, You are the Potter; we are all the work of Your hand.
Isaiah 64:8 NIV

The Potter is constantly working to mold us into Christ’s image, to conform us to the image of His Son. Because God loves us so much, He may choose to put us through fire to make us more pliable and easier to mold.  Since only the Potter knows our purpose, only He knows what our shape should be.  We will only be able to please Him in the shape that enables us to fulfill the purpose He planned for us.
