Daily. There is no substitute for immersing in His Word daily.

Prayerfully. Before you open your Bible, pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you. Do not read out of obligation or with you heart closed off to the convicting words in the Bible. Come with an open heart.

Systematically. If you have not read the entire Bible, or if it has been a long time since you’ve read it, start in the Gospel of John, start with a chapter a day, and keep reading in order all through the New Testament, and then go back and read the Old Testament in order. If you are completely unfamiliar with the Bible, start at the beginning of the New Testament in Matthew and read in order through the New Testament first.
